Ma leaga de Alin multe amintiri, insa una este cu adevarat deosebita, caci vine dintr-o vreme in care il cunosteam prea putin pe Alin. Era prin 2007, o duminica de iunie; fiul meu cel mare, Mihai, ajunsese (mult prea devreme) director general la CNADN. In aceea zi, la Realitatea TV era o emisiune cu participarea, printre altii a fiului meu, alaturi de doi ministri ai MT in direct si inca cel putin doi telefonic. Subiectul - desigur, infrastructura rutiera a Romaniei.
A sunat telefonul si la celalalt capat era Alin, pe care il intilnisem doar de doua ori, o data la Deva - citeva minute si o data la Ploiesti, intr-un cadru mai larg. Cu entuziasm si cu multa caldura m-a felicitat pentru baiatul meu si mi-a impartasit admiratia sa si speranta ca tinerii ca si fiul meu vor reusi sa faca ceva pentru Tara. A fost, si la aceea vreme, o onoare pentru mine sa il am interlocutor - agreabil, deschis si, in acelasi timp, oarecum modest, in ciuda realizarilor personale deosebite. Abia mai apoi am inteles ca asa era OMUL Alin Popa: cu modestie si deosebit respect fata de semeni, cu omenie si intelegere, cu un zimbet larg care il definea si pe care il adresa generos celor din jur fara sa diferentieze intre interlocutori.
Am rememorat in aceste zile triste amintirile, imaginile discutiile mele cu Alin... in toate imi apare cu zimbetul sau inconfundabil. Eu una asa am sa-l pastrez in aminire - un OM in cel mai adevarat sens al cuvintului. Caci, vorba cintecului maramuresean " sa fii mare nu-i mirare/ sa fii om ii lucru mare".
Dumnezeu sa il ierte si sa-l odihneasca in pacea si linistea vesnica.
